Individual sessions

Individual sessions are invaluable, confidential time for one-to-one attention that explore personal issues in depth. Whether you are looking for support through a difficult time or want to embark on a journey of personal discovery and learning, these sessions will respond to your needs at your own pace. Remaining fully clothed throughout, gentle and non-invasive bodywork using a mattress on the floor allows for easy transition into movement. Whilst Integrative Therapy and Movement Education place different emphasis on the work, their concern is with personal development through both creative and therapeutic processes.

Integrative Therapy
uses hands-on bodywork and massage techniques, movement therapy, image making, dialogue and personal expression to affect all levels of being. Sessions promote immediate relief from sudden and severe conditions such as physical injury, grief or anxiety, or from the misery of on-going and long-term trauma, including chronic pain and depression. Alternatively, sessions may be undertaken to address the stresses and strains of everyday life or enjoyed for their feel good factor. As tension is released through deep muscular relaxation so energy is restored creating a better capacity to flow with life.

Touch is fundamental to wellbeing as that creative dialogue that nurtures comfort, support, and a secure sense of personal boundary. Sensory experience that is consciously heightened gradually brings with it recognition of habitual patterns of behaviour. Physical collapse or stagnation manifesting as shortness of breath with feelings of overwhelming anxiety and tension, for example, may be addressed by stimulating and re-directing tone to the organs. As physiological and energetic substance and support is restored physical and emotional symptoms are also relieved. Re-patterning old, outmoded movement introduces new options of behaviour and ways of being to promote our full potential.



Movement Education
is a highly effective means of learning eloquent and efficient movement expression or addressing structural issues involving posture and alignment. As options increase and extend your unique movement language so too does a sense of confidence and trust in the inherent wisdom of a body able to respond appropriately to the demands placed upon it. Change through conscious embodiment is neither transitory nor limited. It is an ongoing process towards self-knowing and self-inquiry that is relevant to every aspect of life. Sessions may also be linked to other ongoing and creative projects.


Movement Expression
develops an understanding of stress-free movement, its quality and gesture, with the Imaginative use of space, time and stillness. These crucial elements of expression reveal a thinking body in harmony with its environment. Bodymind integration develops a felt sense of movement that brings clarity and focus to intentions and actions. Sessions are suitable for performance artists and students of music, dance and drama, for anyone wanting to develop a more effective and personal means of communication or to build skills for public presentation.



Structure and alignment
Inappropriate postural habits that compromise the integrity of the body will inevitably place strain on various muscles or body structures. Back aches, pain and general wear and tear begin to take their toll on an otherwise healthy body. Without correction these often lead over time to further, more serious problems or illness. These can be avoided through somatic education in which inquiry into the role and function of each body system is experientially understood and integrated into everyday movement. Anyone of any age can benefit from these sessions. They are extremely gentle yet highly effective and, as with therapy sessions, work entirely at your own pace and within your capabilities.
